What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used. Under the ePrivacy rules, cookies that are not strictly necessary — such as analytics cookies — may only be set with your consent.
The cookies we use
Strictly-necessary cookies keep the site working and do not require consent. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics / GA4) are optional and are only set after you accept them in our cookie banner. Until you accept, no analytics cookie is placed on your device.
The analytics category also covers one first-party cookie of our own, kl_attr. It remembers which link, campaign or referring site first brought you to Kaluma — for example a villa you found through a video or a newsletter — for 90 days. It is shared with kalumaliving.com, which is part of the same site family, so a visit that begins there and ends with an enquiry here is understood as one journey. If you later send us an enquiry, that record is attached to it, so we can tell which of our content is genuinely useful. It holds no name, email or advertising identifier, it is never read by any third party, and it is not used to build an advertising profile or to track you across other websites. It is only written after you accept analytics, and it is deleted immediately if you withdraw that consent.

Third-party services
WhatsApp (Meta). If you choose to message us, our site simply opens a link to WhatsApp — it sets no cookie on this website. Anything that happens after that is handled by WhatsApp under its own terms.
Managing your choice
When you first visit, our banner lets you accept, reject, or choose which cookies to allow. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and analytics stays off by default. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
